Move. Connect. Thrive.
Bump, Baby and Beyond. Pregnancy to Preschool.
Led by a qualified Midwife, Raise Her: Pregnancy and Postnatal Walks is a free walking and wellbeing programme for pregnant women and new mums in Chesterfield, created to help you move your body, meet other women at a similar life stage, and feel genuinely supported along the way.
Whether you're expecting, newly postpartum, or your little one is charging around at preschool age - you're welcome here, exactly as you are.
What to expect
Sessions are relaxed, sociable, in-person walks held in and around Chesterfield. There's no fitness level required and no pressure - just fresh air, friendly faces, and time that's yours. Each session is designed to be baby and child-friendly, so you can bring your little one along without a second thought.
As well as getting you moving, the programme creates a genuine community - a space where you can talk honestly, make connections, and feel less alone in what can be one of life's most demanding (and wonderful) seasons.
Who is it for?
This project is open to women who are currently pregnant or have children up to preschool age. Sessions are held in Chesterfield and are completely free to attend, funded by Sport England.
Led by someone who understands
This programme is designed and delivered by a registered midwife with hands-on experience supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Sessions are safe, informed and shaped around what women at this stage of life actually need.
Why movement matters
Staying active during pregnancy and the postnatal period has proven benefits for physical recovery, mental health, energy levels and sleep — but we know that getting started can feel hard. This programme removes the barriers and makes it easy, sociable and enjoyable.
